Overview
Scottsdale National is the most polarizing — and arguably the most pure — private golf experience in Arizona. Acquired by GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons in 2013, the club operates on a single creed: golf, uncompromised. There is no resort, no real estate, no condos. Just three immaculate layouts, a clubhouse, and members who are absolutely fanatical about the place.
The courses
- The Mine. A 7,212-yard Jackson/Kahn championship layout cut through Sonoran arroyos. Famous for its enormous, contoured greens and zero-housing visual purity.
- The Other Course. Designed by Phil Mickelson and Rick Smith. Shorter than The Mine but loaded with risk-reward driveable par-4s and Phil’s signature short-game challenges around the greens.
- The Bad Little Nine. A nine-hole par-3 short course conceived by Parsons himself. Lengths range from 90 to 220 yards. Every green is brutal. A favorite warm-up or after-dinner round for members.
Architects
